Don't Surf:
Go Fishing Instead

***'***'***'***'***'***'*
Surfing the internet, I find, can sometimes be akin to abandoning oneself to the terror of the empty sea. The easily distracted are picked up by freak waves and cross-currents, tossed here and there, and never really know where they are or what their place within the Great Flow is. Fishing the internet on the other hand is, for me, adding a purpose to an otherwise pointless endeavour. Purpose to the time upon the chair, in front of the screen, and on the Earth.

Hey, I may be just kidding myself, who knows (?) - I certainly don't' that's for sure - but setting out on a voyage with some idea of where I might go, what I might see, who I might meet, and what I may discover, just appeals to me more than relying on fate, on luck, the whimsy of the uncaring TechnoGod, and ultimately other people decide my routes and relationships for me.

There may be no discernable difference in the quality of experience between 'Surfing' and 'Fishing,' for they are both solitary pursuits that require waterproof clothing are they not, but the thing you need to remember with fishing is:
What do you do when you have a hole in your net.?

***'***'***'***'***'***'*
I'm not in the business of recommending or pushing one thing over another here. Some things are less handy than others, and yet other things are sometimes almost next to useless. In the long run, its all down to personal choice; a matter of personal politics if you like. Oh, and luck, and guesswork as well - don't forget that.
